Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

GIS (Geographical Information System) is a computer system capable of capturing, storing, analyzing, and displaying geographically referenced information; that is, data identified according to its location.

ERCA's Geographic Information System Program

We use digital mapping and data management to provide efficient and effective input for use in regulations, municipal planning, and restoration projects. It also increases information linkages between ERCA and its municipal partners and assists in planning and implementing watershed management priorities.

Currently ERCA is also working to expand the program to include and manage spatial records for fishes and for habitat restoration projects such as tree plantings.
