ERCA Concludes Successful Spring Treeplanting Season

Another successful spring planting season has drawn to a close for the Essex Region Conservation Authority. More than 29 community tree planting and other events were completed in partnership with hundreds of volunteers through our Friends of Watersheds Program. As well, over 170,000 trees were planted through April and May. This is the largest tree planting program of any Conservation Authority in the Province of Ontario. In fact, this fall, ERCA will plant its five millionth tree!

It's not too early to start thinking about tree planting and restoration projects for this fall or event next spring. There are many grant opportunities available to landowners who which to plant buffer strips, windbreaks or undertake restoration projects ranging from 1 acre to several hundred acres.
